Why test first

A startup asks for more than a good idea. It asks for steady hours, staying power, a feel for money and the ability to work with a team.

Ideas rarely fail alone. Founders run out of road.

Many student ventures stall in the slow months after the first excitement: exams arrive, hours shrink, nobody owns the boring work, and money questions go unanswered. The Readiness Score asks you to look honestly at those things before you commit, not after.

It also places you in the role you can carry today. Starting as a Teammate and growing into a Co-Founder or Founder seat beats taking a seat that burns you out. Every result comes with a plan to close the gap.

What we measure

Five parameters, 20 marks each.

Two questions per parameter, ten in all. Every option is a fair answer; your choices show your profile, so answer honestly.

01

Commitment and Time

The real hours you can give each week, and how you protect them from exams, internships and everything else. A startup needs steady time, not bursts.

02

Drive and Passion

How strongly you are pulled toward building. Drive is what gets the first customer call made when nobody is asking you to.

03

Grit and Consistency

Whether you keep going after the excitement fades. Most of a startup is the unglamorous middle: follow-ups, fixes and small wins.

04

Sales and Finance Know-how

A basic sense of selling, pricing and handling money. A venture lives on customers who pay and on spending that makes sense.

05

Teamwork and Ownership

How you work, lead and take responsibility in a team. Student startups are team sports; ownership decides who carries what.

Your level

Your score out of 100 places you at a level. Each level matches a role in a Startions startup.

From Intern to Founder.

Founder, 80 to 100. The rare mix of time, drive, staying power and ownership a founding seat needs, the kind that carries a team through the slow months.

Co-Founder, 60 to 79. A strong partner to a founder, ready to own a function such as growth, product or operations.

Teammate, 40 to 59. Real interest and reliable work inside a structured team, with clear tasks and a good lead.

Intern, 0 to 39. Early in the journey. A starting point, not a verdict: a live startup team is the fastest way to learn.

What your result gives you

A score, and a way forward.

The report is built to be acted on: what is strong, what to grow next, and how.

02

Parameter breakdown

Your marks on each of the five parameters, with concrete next steps for each one.

03

Strongest areas and grow-next

The two parameters you lead with, and the two that will move your score most.

04

Role fit

How well you fit each role, Founder, Co-Founder, Teammate and Intern, weighted by what that role needs.

05

A 30-day plan

For your weakest parameter: a book to read, a film or series to watch, a TED Talk and a podcast, one small step at a time.

06

A verified badge

A badge with a QR code that opens your public result: name, college, score and level. Anyone can check a result ID on the verify page.

The seat discount

Clear your level, get 30% off your seat.

No coupon code to type: the discount is applied for you at seat checkout. Annual seat fees with the discount, before 18% GST: Founder ₹68,040 (was ₹97,200), Co-Founder ₹51,030 (was ₹72,900), Teammate ₹28,350 (was ₹40,500), Intern ₹12,600 (was ₹18,000).

01

Your level unlocks your role and every role below it

A Co-Founder-level score gets 30% off a Co-Founder, Teammate or Intern seat, but not a Founder seat. A Founder-level score unlocks every seat.

02

Use the same email

Take the test with the email you use with STARTIONS and verify it. That is how checkout finds your result.

03

Your best result of the last 30 days counts

Retake to improve and the best score counts, as long as it was taken in the last 30 days when you pay.

04

One result, one seat

Once a seat is paid with your result, that result belongs to that seat and cannot discount another one.

05

Every year you renew

The seat keeps its 30% on every yearly renewal, by hand or automatic, for as long as you hold it.

06

Retakes

Your first attempt is free. Up to five paid retakes follow: ₹299, then ₹499, then ₹999 for the rest, plus GST, with a GST invoice for each.
